Naoko Onishi

Naoko Onishi is a Principal at E12 Ventures, where she is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing early-stage venture investments. She plays a central role in the investment team with a particular focus on the healthcare technology and fintech sectors.

Prior to joining E12, Naoko was a Principal at NovaQuest Capital Management, a U.S.-based private equity fund specializing in late-stage drug development investments. Before that, she led direct and fund investments across Europe and Asia in the Private Equity Division of Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

Naoko began her career at the Bank of Japan, where she conducted macroeconomic analysis, contributed to the development of prudential policy, and supervised financial institutions. These experiences shape her approach to investing with a strong foundation in analytical thinking and policy insight.

Having worked across the U.K., Canada, and the U.S., Naoko brings a global perspective to venture investing. She holds a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Laws in International Law from University College London.
